Dr. Moti Zaken was quoted in “al-Akhbar,” a weekly Arabic newspaer, saying:

One cannot exaggerate the importance of an independent Kurdish State whose leaders and people view Israel as an ally. The relations between the two countries would be upgraded. Imagine that in the middle of the Arab world, neighboring Iran,  Turkey, Iraq and Syria, would be a state, in fact, the most friendly (amiable) state to Israel in the Middle East…this is a strategic asset in all aspects: political, economic and cultural.
